The Green Code
Programme for Schools The Green Code
Programme for Schools is an exciting new sustainable
development education project. Its overall aim is
to encourage young people to make simple lifestyle
changes that will improve their environment. To
achieve this aim a unique package of high quality
learning materials has been developed by teachers for
teachers.
The Green Code Web Site
The Programme is almost
entirely computer-based. The web site at www.greencode.org.uk
complements the materials, which are simple to
use. The materials are designed to enhance
both
teachers' andpupils' ICT skills. To
contact Green Code click on this logo to visit
their web site, or e-mail green.code@virgin.net
or freephone 0800 783 7838.
Learning across the curriculum
One of the Programme's
strengths is the support it offers teachers in
meeting the needs of the core curriculum.
All the resources have been designed in order to
aid the delivery of literacy, numeracy and ICT
initiatives.
The materials
have been thoroughly piloted in schools across
the country and will be continuously monitored
by
a panel of
teachers. As well as being great fun, the
Programme has a sound educational base. It
is an excellent aid to delivering the curriculum
across all age groups.
