Don't choke Britain!
This month's theme is TRANSPORT. The way we travel can
contribute to pollution. Here are some ideas to improve the
air we breathe:
 | Try walking, cycling or using
public transport for a journey when you would usually take the
car – particularly for short journeys. |
 | Share car journeys with friends
and family – especially going to work or school. |
 | If you have to stop the car for
more than a minute, turn the engine off – it will cut down
on exhaust fumes. Did you know that when you are sitting in
traffic you can receive up to 3 times more pollution than
pedestrians. |
 | Take a ride on the National
Cycle Network during Ride the Net week (19-23 June) By June
2005, 8,000 miles of the network will be created, passing
within 2 miles of 20 million people. Call Ride the Net on 0117
915 0107 for more details. |
