| Developing
a framework for sustainable development
|
|
| Representatives of
key organisations providing educational
services to schools including City
Departments, agencies and NGO’s were
invited to two meetings. It was a rare
chance to meet and begin creating a
framework of collective ambitions for
local and global sustainable development
and identify their particular
contributions towards supporting
Birmingham schools. It is hoped to meet
formally once per year to review and
revise plans. |

based events
|
|
| Clusters of
schools have been invited to submit
plans for events which raise pupil
awareness of sustainable development in
a stimulating and novel way.
Examples include Rookery Road Infant and
Nursery school using recycled materials
to create puppets in a performance to
pupils, parents from their own nursery
and other nursery groups in the
locality. Hallmoor School held a day
using storyteller to celebrate their
project ‘Community Gardens in School’.
Local primary schools involved in their
“flightpath” inclusion network were
invited to participate. |
