Secondary Transfer

If your child is allocated a school more than 3 miles walking distance from your home but you could have been offered a place at a nearer school if you had expressed different preferences.

If your child goes to a school more than 3 miles from your home, because that is the school you want even though, at the time places were decided, your child could have gone to a school within 3 miles.

Grammar Schools

If you chose a selective (grammar) school which is more than 3 miles walking distance from your home and there would be an available all-ability community or foundation school within 3 miles walking distance.

Single Sex Schools

If your choose a school which is more than 3 miles walking distance from your home because it is single sex but there would have been an available community or foundation school within 3 miles walking distance.
