Dr. Carol
McGuiness
Professor of Psychology at Queen’s University,
Belfast. She directed the ACTS project (Activating
Children’s Thinking Skills) in Northern Ireland, which
developed and evaluated a methodology for enhancing
children’s thinking skills, across the curriculum.
She is the author of numerous publications on Thinking
Skills and produced a report for DfES entitled
"From Thinking Skills to Thinking Classrooms"
(1999). Under the ESRC Teaching and Learning
Research Programme, she is continuing her work,
evaluating the role of classroom dialogue in developing
thinking.
Tony
Buzan
One of the world's leading authors and lecturers on the
brain and learning (author and co-author of 80+ books,
translated into 32 languages sold world-wide).
Tony is the inventor of ‘Mind Maps’, popularly
described as "the Swiss army knife of the
brain". He is the originator of the concept
of Mental Literacy, and author of ‘Use your Head’,
voted one of the thousand greatest books of the last
millennium.
