Professional development opportunities for staff within Children, Young People and Families services
A message from Vicky Waldron, Head of Workforce Strategy

STEP training has been firmly established for over ten years, delivering a diverse programme of training and development to a wide variety of staff. Our training helps pupils to enjoy and achieve at school by ensuring staff have the best opportunities for improving performance and promoting effective learning and communication. We offer open programmes and a consultancy service to both schools and directorate staff.

The establishment of the CYPF directorate brings new opportunities for targeted learning and development and STEP are pleased to be able to make a direct contribution to developing the children’s workforce.

Some of the key themes that are integrated into our provision are:

  • Every Child Matters outcomes
  • School Workforce reform and modernisation
  • Valuing diversity
  • Maximising inclusion
  • Integrated qualification framework

We are keen to provide appropriate training for all our customers and with this in mind, we invite you to use the section on encouraging new ideas/notes. Your input will help us tailor our training to your needs and continue to improve our service.

We hope you find this web site a practical resource tool, which will enable you to access the training you require.

Yours sincerely,

Vicky Waldron
