Financial packages for schools
In order
to respond to schools requirements SFS has designed a
range of supplementary services to provide the flexibility
of service that schools want.
These services include:
SFS can provide
experienced finance staff at a very competitive
discounted rate to cover when school finance staff are
away for whatever reason – holiday, sickness, vacancies
etc.
A miscellaneous range
of services to support with all financial administration
tasks is available. Such services include invoice
processing, suspense file clearance, year end
procedures, budget setting, budget monitoring,
maintenance of personnel module, provision of governing
body reports, general system maintenance etc

Financial Management Training for Governors
Training for governing bodies on budget planning,
budget monitoring and strategic financial management
as well as training on roles and responsibilities in
relation to the Financial Management Standard.
Discounts are available for schools that have signed
up to the SFS Loyalty Bonus Scheme.

Extended Schools Provision
SFS can provide support to Networks (Clusters) and
schools with Neighbourhood Nurseries and Children’s
Centres. This support includes applications, financial
returns and the setting up of effective budget
monitoring systems.
- Financial Management Standard
SFS can support, advise, and guide schools on meeting
all aspects of the Financial Management Standard.
Schools are reminded that it is a mandatory requirement
for all schools to have met the Standard by 2010 and
that a formal assessment will have to be undertaken to
ensure that schools have achieved the required elements
of the Standard.
Discounts are available for schools that have signed
up to the SFS Loyalty Bonus Scheme.
SFS can provide support to schools in the annual
auditing of school fund accounts and other non public
funds as required by Birmingham Audit.
