This service ensures schools of an independent view of their financial position and alerts them to any potential difficulties not apparent through their own monitoring systems

The key features of this service include:

• Advice and guidance on the maintenance of the Schools Management Information System
   
• Expert advice at a strategic level with financial planning support and guidance
   
• Production of regular staffing forecasts
   
• The undertaking of the local authority monitoring role to ensure that schools effectively manage the resources delegated to them and that the City Council’s statutory responsibility is fulfilled and financial probity assured.  There is no requirement for schools subscribing to SFS services to submit Compliance Returns to the Local Authority.

This flexible service can be delivered through a variety of ways to suit the individual requirements of schools.  These include:

• Standard Service: One full day visit lasting up to 7.5 hours per term

• Modified Service: One half day visit lasting up to 3.5 hours per half term
• Premium Service: Six full day visits lasting up to 7.5 hours per year.
