The Supply Teaching Service
Schools Plus provides a variety of cover for schools citywide.
Our aim is to meet the individual needs of Birmingham schools by offering a high quality, non-profit making cover service, with the security and guarantees that only the
Local Authority can give.
The safeguarding and welfare of children is paramount to our recruitment process.
We have many experienced teachers, all recruited to the highest standards.
Checks include:
- Detailed scrutiny of application forms to ensure
consistency, highlight discrepancies and account for
breaks in service, qualification checks, etc
- References checked in detail and available prior to
interviews
- Enhanced Disclosure and List 99
- A formal face to face interview
- Medical clearance
- Identity checks
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- Qualification checks
Schools Plus will not place a teacher unless all checks have been received and are completely
satisfactory.
All teachers have recent experience/knowledge of the curriculum area or key stage in which they are placed as well as being up to date with current classroom teaching practice.
Schools Plus teachers follow regular professional development and have access to resources and support.
