Birmingham Performance Data
Performance data for Birmingham schools.

The web site linked above is the main source of performance data for Birmingham schools.  It includes current and previous year’s data.  From September 2006, schools will be notified of new additions to the site via eBriefings.

The site includes:

Individual School Data

  • Performance trends for each Key Stage
  • Pupil level ‘forecasts’ to support target setting (with files for importing into the school’s MIS)
  • School and pupil level value-added analysis
  • Fischer Family Trust (FFT) estimates and value-added.
  • School attendance and exclusion trends
  • School PANDA report

School Comparative Data

  • ADAPT software.  This can be downloaded from the site.  Copies of the software on CD have also been sent to schools.  It is menu driven software that includes attainment and value-added analysis for each school and for groups of schools.  The software also produces results analysis by gender, ethnic group, pupils with special educational needs, looked after children, pupils eligible for free school meals. Local authority and national averages are included for comparative purposes.
  • Contextual value-added (CVA) scores
  • EAZ performance trends
  • Attendance and school exclusions

LEA Data

  • Three sections:
    • Customer surveys.  Includes schools’ views of local authority services. Summary of parents’ views of Birmingham schools and pupils’ views of Birmingham schools.
    • LEA context.  Includes number and type of schools, ethnic groups, language groups, faith groups.
    • LEA standards.  Includes an annual report on Birmingham’s assessment and examination results.
  • The City’s Children and Young People’s Plan.
  • Annual Performance Assessment (APA)

Ward and area Data

  • Ward tables and maps showing education standards based on children and young people living in the ward.

Data Calendar

  • Calendar showing when performance data are available during the academic year.

RAISEonline

  • Ofsted and the DfES are working together to streamline the provision of data analysis to schools by merging the Performance and Assessment Reports (the PANDA) with the Pupil Achievement Tracker (PAT).  The new product will be known as RAISEonline (Reporting and Analysis for Improvement through School self-Evaluation).
