Previous research by Pupil Watch
Pupil Watch undertook research
about children's perceptions of risk, in and around school, and
its links to non-attendance, supporting the attendance work of
each of the Behaviour Improvement Programme clusters.
The research, in the form of a
questionnaire, centred on children's understanding of risk and
contained questions about the journey to school, non-attendance,
age, gender and ethnicity. The questionnaire format
permitted
large amounts of data to be collected, while retaining the
anonymity of the pupils.
The questionnaire formed part of
school citizenship class work that asked young people to discuss what they
thought
about bullying, truancy and crime. The research results will
be available soon.
