UfI will be a new kind of
public-private partnership, which will boost the
competitiveness of business and the employability of
individuals. Working with businesses and education and
training providers, it will use modern technologies to
make learning available at a time and place to suit the
learner - at home, in the workplace and through a
national network of learning centres. UfI will be
launched nationally in the Autumn of 2000.
