Success for Everyone

Success for Everyone 2004
A Standard for ICT in Schools

Success for Everyone (SfE) is currently undergoing a major revamp.  It will become one of a series of 'maps' or school self-review tools for ICT developments.  The aim is to also make SfE a contributory database where all descriptors will link to examples from named schools.

Don Passey, Researcher in Educational Technologies at Lancaster University visited 20 Birmingham schools in late 2003 and concluded:

“Schools are using resources such as the Success for Everyone Matrix to track their own progress. Schools provide rich sources of ideas, as well as exemplars of how ICT developments can be undertaken, and what they can lead to.  Visits have highlighted a very wide range of developments and activities. Every one of these 20 schools has something to show, and each has particular qualities that could inform others who wish to consider specific developments.”

The new version of SfE will:

  • have 8 Key Areas - the original 7 processes + Inclusion

  • contain Themes within each key area to make it easier to track progress across descriptors

  • have 4 Levels of Descriptor – now named focusing, establishing, enhancing, transforming

  • have Examples for all descriptors from named Birmingham schools

  • be a Web Enabled Document.
