Maths Booster Activities

QCA identify the broad areas of weakness for maths at the end of Key Stage 2.  Athena EAZ in Birmingham took this several steps further, analysing 17,000 separate pieces of pupil data from their 6 schools. This has enabled them to identify, specifically, the areas of weakness of the pupils they work with. As a result, the Birmingham Grid for Learning (BGfL) has been able to support them further by grouping together existing resources, and building some new resources to fill the gaps, to address these weaknesses.

Pupils that Athena have targeted have shown a real improvement of 20% over non targeted pupils when addressing these specific areas of weakness, and the BGfL Maths Booster has been a key part of this.
