The Birmingham Grid for Learning (BGfL) provides a teaching and learning environment for all those with an interest in education in Birmingham.  Through a range of interfaces that identify personally with all prospective users, it is a learning portal for all citizens of our city.  Whether the user is a child in Early Years or a Parent of a post 16 student, via the Home Page BGfL channels them to the resources and tools specific to their interest, without closing down those other environments they may also need to access.

In addition, the BGfL Home Page also provides a point of entry to Education Service pages, the News Centre and a range of other BGfL assets.  As well as providing a range of resources, BGfL also maintains notice boards, which covers all National Curriculum subject areas as well as generic phase teaching issues etc.  The content of these notice boards are kept up to date by a number of LEA personnel as well as a group of part time BGfL Curriculum Associates.
