What the School Set Out To Achieve:

  • Year Group(s) Involved:  We would like to try these out in a number of different environments ranging from the traditional classroom with a Year 10 group to the more varied situation, which exists on a hospital ward.

  • Curriculum Area:  Again this will depend on the sector of the school and will probably involve most subject areas.

  • Perceived Benefits:

    • PC’s and to some extent laptops are very cumbersome especially in areas of the school which have severe storage problems.  This may be a solution that suits our needs.

    • Secondly the weight of a laptop can be an issue when a student is bed bound or has limited mobility.

  • Action Research Potential: Access to generic programmes & the Internet for all subjects while a student is confined to a hospital/ home environment. A comparison between the use of a web tablet, laptop and PC.
