What jobs can a child do?
13 years old: the following are the jobs
permitted, involving light work only:
- agricultural or horticultural
- shop work
- office work
- in riding stables, catteries and
kennels

- delivery of newspapers, journals,
leaflets
- hairdressing salons
- in a cafe or restaurant, but not in the
kitchen

14, 15 and 16 year olds: can only be
employed to do light work except for prohibited employments.
