Pupils attending the Centenary Square EiC Week
launch event received a McDonald’s Happy Meal and
then had the opportunity to take part in a range of activities, including
looking at a hot air balloon, talking to the World Hot Air Ballooning Champion
and meeting representatives from the Royal Navy.
At 2pm 1000 balloons were released, each with a
label containing information about EiC and with a drawing or sentence from a
pupil at the event, explaining how Learning Mentors had supported them.
Thanks must go to everyone who supported this
event; most particularly Richard Riley from Small Heath School who was
instrumental in the organisation of events; Andy Moss and Hodge Hill School Band
who provided fantastic music for the afternoon and npower, Virgin, Big W and the
Royal Navy for their sponsorship of events.
