Staff training to high standards

The Direct Services Training Section provides training to all staff, so that services may be provided in accordance with our Service Promise and Service Standards.  Training courses can be provided on site, at head office or at other training establishments dependent upon need.  Similarly, training courses will be presented by our own training staff or by consultants depending upon course content.

Courses are available in three areas:

• General
• Catering
• Cleaning

External candidates for courses can be considered according to availability of space(s).  Contact the Training Manager for information on dates, times, costs etc.

Training Venues 

Courses are normally staged at The Portland Centre. However, they can be staged at a number of venues across the city, including:

• Martineau Education Centre, Harborne;
• Reaside Centre, Lee Bank;
• Mere Green J&I, Mere Green;
• East Birmingham College, Garrets Green;
• Redfern Depot, Environmental & Consumer Services, Tyseley;
• Hollyfields.

Training can be also be staged on individual school sites if required subject to suitable accommodation being available.
