National Professional Qualification for Headship
(NPQH) – who for? Anyone with experience of leadership at a whole school level. Recruitment points – April and September.

Current Education Research in UK
(CERUK) – information on all recently completed and ongoing research in the UK.

British Education Research Association
(BERA) – member organisation for those involved in education research.

Fast Track
Accelerated development programme for teachers.

Sabbatical Scheme for Teachers in Challenging Schools
Pilot, for teachers with at least 5 years service in school with 50+% free school meals.  LEA hold funds, school informs LEA who then release funding, £6000 per sabbatical.

Professional Bursaries
(Beyond EiCs and EAZs) £500 for teachers to spend on any professional development of their choice. Pilot in certain LEAs.

Advanced Skills Teachers
Offers teachers who want to stay in the classroom a new career path. Funding via Standards Fund available to place ASTs on appropriate point on the AST pay spine and cover costs of outreach work.

Best Practice Research Scholarships
Teachers apply directly to the DfES for a scholarship to undertake action research. Scholarships are worth £2500.

Teachers International Professional Development Opportunities
(TIPD) Each LEA is allocated a number of places for the TIPD scholarships. Schools apply to their LEA. Four strands: study visits, teacher exchange, TIPD/DfES visits, school determined visits.
