Pupil Connect supports pupils without a school place, who fall into the following categories:

• Pupils who have been permanently excluded from school
• Newly arrived pupils (Refugees, Asylum Seekers, Relocated from a UK City, Relocated from outside the UK)
• Non attending pupils who have lost a school placement
• Children previously educated at home
• Pupils who fail to return on time from extended leave from abroad

Referrals for funding placements may be received from:

• Behaviour Support
• Education Welfare Service
• Looked After Children’s Education Service (LACES)
• Educating Otherwise Team
• Youth Offending Service
• Social Services
• Connexions
• West Midlands Consortium Education Service for Travelling Children
• Local Authority Admissions Team
