Reintegration for Pupils
A main function of Behaviour Support (BS) is to reintegrate pupils into full time
education at school, college or alternative provision.
Each centre has staff who work with
pupils who are reintegrating to school following exclusion.
Once a school place is secured BS supports a 'fresh start' for
pupils. The return to school is well planned with a
programme of support to the school and the pupil. The service aims
to ensure the pupil's reintegration is successful.
Schools have an opportunity to
'dual register' a pupil with Behaviour Support should problems arise. Once these
problems have been addressed the pupil can then return to their
own school or, via a 'Managed Move', to a new school. Behaviour Support can continue to offer support when the pupil
is fully on the roll of their new school. Pupils
moving to college or an alternative provider may be supported by a
Learning Mentor.
