Improving Behaviour
Courses(IBC)
These courses aim to support schools in developing
earlier intervention strategies for pupils at risk
of exclusion to maintain their places at school. In
order to support pupils into and out of courses and
to ensure equality of access it will no longer be
possible for schools who have not subscribed to one
of the 4 ISS models above to refer pupils to these
courses on a "pay as you go" basis. Pupils who are
referred will have received support as outlined in
the Key Elements requirement of each of the 4 In
School Support models available for schools to
purchase. The course content has been revised in
consultation with schools. There may be some slight
local variation but the courses will prioritise
behavioural and social / emotional issues.
It is not cost effective for BSS to provide
Improving Behaviour Courses unless a number of
schools in each network subscribe. All courses will
initially be 3 weeks long but a further 3 weeks
could be accessed subject to an assessment of the
pupil’s needs by Centre staff and in agreement with
the school.
One block of 18
weeks = 6 x 3 week placements
(If subscribing, additional 3 week placements may be
purchased as required at £800 per placement) |
£4800 |
| One block of 36
weeks = 12 x 3 week placements |
£9120*
*includes a 5% discount |
| Schools not
wishing to buy a block of Improving Behaviour
Courses may buy one-off 3 week courses but only if
they have subscribed to one of the 4 ISS packages
