School data

Data collected from schools is available for your reference. This includes:

  • Premises Information
This includes general property information.  Adequate premises data about schools is central to the development of assessment plans.

  • Condition Assessment
The condition survey will assess the physical state of your premises.  This is not a detailed room by room survey but a fairly broad-brush assessment carried out by the City Council’s Urban Design Department Surveyors.

  • Suitability Assessment
This will involve a comparison of existing school accommodation with an accommodation model in order to determine shortfalls and potential surplus of each different type of room and in total for the school.  It also requires an assessment of the impact that inappropriate existing accommodation has upon curriculum delivery and the recording of Health & Safety and Security information.

  • Sufficiency Assessment
Sufficiency focuses on total areas and on the quantity and organisation of places within and across schools in an Authority in relation to demand.

Collection of this AMP data is managed by the Asset Management Team and will be used to develop property strategies and policies including programmes of work.  It is essential that schools develop their own property strategies using this data.  Further information about developing these strategies is available in the sections on Premises Management and Scheme Development.
