Aimhigher Partnership
Raising achievement in schools and colleges

Welcome to the Birmingham Aimhigher Partnership web site. Aimhigher (Excellence Challenge) has operated in Birmingham since 2001 and is funded until 2006. The Aimhigher Partnership brings together schools, colleges, higher education institutions, Connexions and the LSC. It is part of a government initiative to widen participation in Further and Higher education and to raise achievement within the 16-19 cohort in schools and colleges.

The Aimhigher Partnership supports a range of activities, including collaborative working between schools, colleges and higher education institutions, in order to increase the educational attainment and aspirations of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.

In September 2004 Aimhigher (Excellence Challenge) ceased to operate as an independent initiative and became a major partner within Birmingham and Solihull Aimhigher.  This is a national initiative, which brings together the major partners in raising aspiration and extending participation in FE and HE within an area, regional and natural framework.  It will be funded it its present form until August 2006.

Information concerning all Birmingham and Solihull Aimhigher activities, advice, news, and documents, can be found on their website at www.aimhigherwm.org/index.asp or click the link below:
